Roll Your Way to 7 Wonders, and Slam a Path to the Throne | BoardGameGeek News

▪️ We should have seen this coming, I suppose — or maybe some of you already had a private betting pool for what would come on the market next for Antoine Bauza‘s 7 Wonders. If so, those of you saying “dice game” can now collect gold from your neighbors.
Yes, Belgian publisher Repos Production has announced the forthcoming release of 7 Wonders Dice, with this 2-7 player game scheduled to hit the U.S. market on September 19, 2025.
Here’s an overview of the game:
A game plays over a series of turns during which you will use dice to construct your city. At the end of the game, count up all of your points to see who has the highest score.
“Use dice to construct your city” — hmm, this design is clearly not a dexterity game in which you would literally construct a 3D wonder with dice, but maybe that’s the next step in this game line. I call dibs on that idea in the next betting pool…
▪️ In other spinoff news, on April 1, 2025 Dice Throne, Inc. — which is a company separate from original Dice Throne publisher Roxley — announced Slam Throne, a two-player game from Gavan Brown, Nate Chatellier, Aaron Hein, and Manny Trembley that gives off strong Pog vibes.
Here’s the teaser description for this Q3 2025 release:
The heroes of Dice Throne have entered a new arena in Slam Throne! Use your hero slammer to flip your opponent’s caps, reducing their health to zero in this dueling throwdown challenge.
No, Slam Throne was not an April Fool’s Day joke. Instead it was the best kind of AFD announcement and the only type I’ll cover: an oddball unexpected product that will actually exist.
